The guest house is on Ardbeg Road, on the eastern side of Rothesay Bay, with the water directly across the road — close enough that the CalMac ferry crosses the bay window while you have your morning coffee.
The Wemyss Bay ferry pier, the Esplanade, the Winter Gardens, Rothesay Castle, shops and cafés are all within a short walk, so it is a strong choice for car-free visitors.
Rooms are bright and simply done, with family rooms taking a double and a single together — useful if you are travelling with children and want everyone in one space.
Each has its own shower or bathroom, with towel rail, mirror and toiletries provided.
Alongside the B&B rooms, the Commodore also has self-catering apartments with their own living space — sofa beds, TV, dining table and kitchen — so you can cook and spread out over a longer stay.
