Where it is

The flat is on Rothesay's Esplanade, facing the bay. The Wemyss Bay ferry pier, the Winter Gardens, Rothesay Castle, shops, cafés and the bus terminus are all within easy walking distance.

This is the best of both worlds for many visitors: a seafront location with the freedom of self-catering. You can arrive on foot from the ferry and have everything you need within a few minutes' walk.

What to expect

Self-catering apartments on the Esplanade vary in size and style, but most offer a living area, kitchen facilities, and one or two bedrooms. The sea view is the selling point — being able to watch the ferries come and go from the window.

It tends to work out better value than hotels for stays of three nights or more, and gives you the flexibility to cook, eat out, or pick up fish and chips on the front. Bring your own supplies, or shop in Rothesay once you arrive.
